It is lightweight and silky, which creates a flattering drape, making Tencel Viscose the ideal fabric for your everyday wardrobe staples. Our blend is 63% certified Tencel and 37% viscose. Tencel is made from wood pulp within sustainably managed forests that use closed loop production, ultimately minimizing harsh environmental effects through recycling, using less water, and utilizing nontoxic chemical processing. Along with Tencel, our viscose portion of the fabric is OKEO-tex certified, meaning it has been tested and proven free of harmful substances.

Linen

A natural beauty made for slow fashion, linen is another one of our favorites. This durable, absorbent, and biodegradable fabric is made from some of the strongest fibers in the world. It becomes softer and softer with each wear and wash. Derived from flax, this fabric requires minimal water usage and no pesticides. The flax used in our linen is generally sourced from Europe and is cultivated without any irrigation, making it an easy, sustainable choice.

Cotton Poplin

Cotton poplin has an enduring allure rooted in its perfect balance of crisp structure and soft comfort. Traditionally woven in a tight plain weave with fine horizontal ribs, this breathable fabric feels smooth against the skin while maintaining a polished, tailored appearance. Its lightweight, yet durable nature makes it a favorite for everything from sharp button-down shirts to our new favorite poplin pants, offering a silhouette that holds its shape without feeling stiff.

Most of our poplins are crafted in Omi, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, using traditional techniques. This poplin undergoes a meticulous pretreatment and dyeing process that gives it its signature "washed" character. Gently rubbed multiple times before dyeing, the fabric develops a natural wrinkle and an irresistibly soft, broken-in finish that feels as beautiful as it looks. Its firm elasticity lends crisp structure to each silhouette while remaining airy and lightweight against the skin. It is designed to be worn often, washed easily, and truly lived in.

Lyocell

Picture this, an eco-friendly version of rayon that feels just as soft. Unlike other rayons, lyocell's closed-loop production process means no chemical waste is released into the environment. Also derived from wood sources, lyocell is moisture wicking and highly breathable. This long lasting fabric is a no-brainer for your wardrobe needs.

Naia Acetate

NAIA™ Acetate is a plant-based fiber crafted from wood pulp from sustainably managed forests using a responsible closed-loop process. This closed loop process allows solvents to be reclaimed and reused, minimizing chemical waste and significantly reducing both water and carbon footprints. From tree to textile, every step is transparent and traceable, reflecting a commitment to environmental stewardship.

This sustainable acetate reflects a thoughtful approach to both beauty and responsibility—and is fully biodegradable at the end of its life. Engineered to be soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking, it resists pilling and requires minimal care—making it an effortless choice for women who want a polished look that keeps up with their on-the-go lifestyle.

Cupro

Cupro has an undeniable allure in garments, prized for its silky hand feel, elegant drape, and sustainable origins. Made from regenerated cellulose fibers—often derived from cotton linter byproducts—cupro offers the breathability of cotton with a fluidity that rivals silk, making it a favorite among women seeking both luxury and practicality. Its smooth surface creates garments that feel cool and comfortable even in warm weather. Beyond its tactile appeal, cupro’s ability to hold rich dyes gives it a luminous depth of color. The fabric’s refined sheen and sueded surface texture make it a favorite among NB customers for modern wardrobe staples. It is 100% biodegradable, and because cupro uses a renewable raw material, it is considered a more sustainable alternative to many synthetic fibers.

Silk

Soft, luxe, and natural, this fabric elevates the most basic silhouettes with its incredible drape and luminous sheen. Derived from silk cocoons, silk is a natural fiber that has been used for centuries to create beautiful clothing and textiles. It is fully biodegradable. Our sueded silk charmeuse is smooth with a matte sheen created by sand washing the fabric.
